We Pride Ourselves on Our Team Work
A team is not a group of people who work together. A team is a group of people who trust each other. – Simon Sinek
An effective and engaged team is not created by people simply working at the same firm. Employees cannot be forced to join the firm team; rather, employees must be inspired and motivated to become team members. Inspiration and motivation come from sharing a clear vision and understanding how individual efforts contribute to the achievement of the vision.
At JCCS, we pride ourselves on being a firm-wide team. It takes a collective effort from our employees to deliver integrated and customized services to our clients. JCCS is committed to promoting a team environment that encourages collaboration, communication, and creativity. As a part of this team initiative, JCCS recently hosted its 2nd annual firm meeting in Missoula this summer.
The meeting featured a conversation with the firm’s CEO, John Stevens, which reviewed the firm’s mission and dedication to clients. Several team members presented experiences from the past year that demonstrated how employees had come together to provide services that went beyond financial results and helped clients make decisions to reached their personal and professional goals. Sharing the mission and how each employee contributes to the success of that mission provided a renewed focus and enthusiasm to see beyond the numbers and aid our clients in achieving their aspirations, whatever those may be.
Team members then participated in two group activities, Minute-to-Win-It games and Trivia Night. This might sound like all fun and games, but each activity contributed to building trust and communication within the firm. Employees did not choose their own groups, but instead were randomly assigned to groups, resulting in teams that varied by office location as well as area of expertise.
By being a part of a diversified group, team members learned to work together and trust in fellow employees they might not see or communicate with on a regular basis. Even though stacking cups or knowing what team won the NBA finals in 1996 may not seem related to financial advisory services, the group activities served as a component to building a strong and capable team to deliver the best possible services to our clients.
Effective advisory service requires an engaged team of professionals. JCCS is committed to providing that engaged team for all clients, bringing the right people with the right knowledge that fits you and your goals.
