When Deb Lawton joined JCCS in the Fall of 2024, she was thrilled to be back in a workplace setting – around colleagues. Prior to moving into her office at the JCCS Missoula location, Deb, an auditor, worked remotely for 1.5 years.

“I like being around people. It’s who I am,” she says.

After earning a degree in business management and accounting, Deb, who’s originally from Stevensville, joined the financial services sector. She worked at a bank and then a CPA firm. At JCCS, she brings her experience to the firm’s audit service line where she primarily works with Montana-based nonprofit agencies.

“It’s satisfying to work with clients in my community and home state. Part of what drew me to JCCS was the prospect of working with clients where I live.”

Deb enjoys the emphasis JCCS places on learning and professional development.

“It’s not just you in your office; it’s the whole firm. At JCCS, you have the resources of team members across the organization who have various backgrounds and expertise. The culture is friendly and it’s a learning environment where there’s a desire to see you succeed by giving you the training you need.”

And – she enjoys the firm’s perks such as working a hybrid schedule, paid Friday afternoons off, a 401(k) profit sharing plan, health insurance, and paid volunteer time.

When she’s not working, you might find Deb volunteering at local events like the Missoula Marathon.

“There are a lot of events in Missoula that need assistance, so I like to volunteer for them and be part of the community,” she said.
