We don’t just keep you in the black. We keep you moving forward.

JCCS has more than 100 professionals working in seven locations. Yet we all share one goal: to guide you in making smart decisions today so you can have a better tomorrow.

Our well-qualified CPAs and business advisors look beyond mere numbers and statistics. We begin by asking a few simple questions. Where do you want to be – short and long term? How can we poise you for future growth while avoiding any potential pitfalls? Can we dig even deeper into our bench of talent to help you further succeed? Then we assemble a team of experts to help you execute your plan and correct it as necessary.

For more than 70 years we’ve helped clients, both big and small, in virtually every sector. We’ve collaborated with them on everything from managing payroll to paying the right amount of tax, from expansion plans like mergers and acquisitions to succession planning, and valuation. Throughout it all we’ve held one firm belief.

When it comes to reaching your personal, business and professional goals, knowledge is power.

Our Mission

We believe in seeing beyond the numbers in ways that help our clients and people achieve their personal, professional and business goals.

We take this mission to heart and live it every day. It is fundamental to the work we do and the value we deliver not just for our clients but also ourselves. Because as we see it, when we succeed both JCCS and our clients can reinvest and contribute more to the local economy.

Our Vision

To be sought out not only for what we do, but for how we think and the difference we make.

We want to be partners with our clients. We want long-term relationships where we can positively impact their futures.

We want to work with clients who share our mission and values. They are the ones who think proactively and are future-centric.

We believe the best clients are individuals and businesses who are always seeking to do things better.

Our Core Beliefs

Think Exponentially
We must have the energy and courage to think bigger whether working with each other or with clients. We explore better ways of doing things or alternatives our team and client may not have considered. We figure out ways to help our clients get more and achieve more, and grow our expertise in the process.

Act Proactively
We turn our IDEAS into ACTION. If there are alternatives, we ask what they are and explore them. We determine if we can make a change, develop a new service or a new way of delivering something for a client that has higher value, is more efficient and is driven by the value of what we are doing. We think one step ahead, so we’re not just dealing with the issue in front of us – to help the client and the JCCS team act proactively.

Grow Professionally
We cultivate a culture of constant learning. Some of these skills are technical so we can develop the competence and professionalism to deliver new ideas and services. We build confidence by adding layers of soft skills that drive ideas, influence colleagues and clients, and inspire action. What do I need to learn to be able to deliver this new idea? What does my team need to learn and do? How can I invest in myself so that not only do I build my professional capabilities but also those of the team around me, while increasing the benefits to our clients as well? We constantly ask these questions to better ourselves so we can better serve you.

Our Values

Finally, we live our values:

  • Integrity and honesty
  • Teamwork and respect
  • Accountability
  • Personal development
  • Innovation

Personal touch. Global reach.

Being local, we get to know your business really well. We provide insights and recommend appropriate strategies to help it grow. But we also partner with national and worldwide resources that provide a wealth of information. It enables us to see those ideas through to fruition and keep you abreast of your ever-changing industry. Our professional affiliations include:

The American Institute of CPAs (AICPA)
With more than 330,000 members, the AICPA provides a tradition of unrivaled services to the profession. Many CPAs in our firm are individual members of this organization. In addition, JCCS is a member of the Private Companies Practice Section of the AICPA’s Division for CPA Firms. This membership ensures that our personnel are adequately trained and keeping current on professional developments. Not to mention it makes you rest easier as well.

The Montana Society of CPAs (MSCPA)
We always think and act on a local level. That’s why we’re proud to be part of this statewide professional organization for all Montana Certified Public Accountants. JCCS has taken and continues to take an active leadership role in the society’s activities.

The National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts (NACVA)  This global, professional association supports the business valuation, litigation consulting and fraud deterrence disciplines within the CPA and professional business advisory communities. Along with its training and certification programs, NACVA offers research support, marketing tools, software, journals, reference materials and proprietary databases to enhance the professional capabilities and capacities of its members.

Accredited in Business Valuation (ABV)
The ABV designation is accredited by the AICPA. The mission of the ABV Credential program is to provide a community of business valuation experts with specialized access to information, education, tools and support that enhance their abilities to make a genuine difference for their clients and employers. The ABV Credential program allows credential holders to brand or position themselves as CPAs who are premier business providers. ABV Credential holders differentiate themselves by going beyond the core service of reaching a conclusion of value, by also creating value for clients through the strategic application of this analysis.

Enrolled Agent (EA)
An Enrolled Agent is a person who has earned the privilege of representing taxpayers before the Internal Revenue Service. Enrolled Agents, like attorneys and certified public accountants or CPAs, are unrestricted as to which taxpayers they can represent, what types of tax matters they can handle and which IRS offices they can practice before.

Associate Professional Member (APM) of the American Society of Pension Professionals and Actuaries (ASPPA)
The American Society of Pension Professionals and Actuaries is the premier national organization for career retirement professionals. The purpose of the ASPPA is twofold: To educate retirement plan and benefits professionals and to preserve and enhance the private pension system.

Certified Financial Planner (CFP)
The CFP certification is awarded by the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Inc. This is one of the most recognized financial planning certifications in the world. Our CFP practitioners will help you discover and solve financial problems and achieve life goals by serving as both counselor and coach. They’re part of an international financial planning community committed to putting your interests first and meeting the profession’s highest standards.

Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE)
The Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE) administers the Certified Fraud Examiner designation, which denotes proven expertise in fraud prevention, detection, deterrence and investigation. CFEs must meet stringent academic, professional and character requirements; comply with the ACFE Code of Professional Ethics; and continually build their skills through ongoing professional education.
