Mountains, Audits, and Ice Fishing: Meet Kolby Killoy

Kolby Killoy, senior accountant in Audit, remembers childhood summers visiting his grandparents in Montana.
“I always wanted to eventually move to and live in Montana. I liked the small community feel to it, and the outdoors,” he said.
Kolby grew up in Washington’s Tri-Cities and made the move to Montana in 2016 to play football for Carroll College in Helena. He studied sports management but changed his major after his mom, an accountant and CFO, encouraged him to pursue accounting.
“I fell in love with accounting when I joined the program.”
After college, Kolby took a position at Wipfli where he performed internal audits on financial institutions, assessing their risk and testing to ensure proper controls were in place.
Kolby joined JCCS in the summer of 2025 and loves the perks, like half-day Fridays, and the opportunity to work in the office among colleagues.
“It’s a supportive environment. I’ve had help understanding auditing organizations outside of financial institutions, where most of my experience lies.”
He’s excited to learn more about auditing governmental agencies and non-profits; two sectors JCCS serves in its audit service line.
“It’s fun to get to know the different industries,” Kolby said.
When he’s not working, Kolby is busy raising his baby daughter and going outdoors in the winter, his favorite season for recreation. His top pursuits? – skiing and ice fishing!
