Nature’s Call: Why Aurelia Chose Montana for Career and Peace

JCCS welcomed Aurelia Damiani in April 2025. She serves as a senior accountant in the firm’s Audit service line. Prior to joining JCCS, Aurelia Damiani worked at a top ten CPA firm in Boston. A slower pace of life and outdoor opportunities like hiking and snowboarding lured she and her husband to Montana.

“We enjoyed the East Coast but decided we needed a shift in life. Opportunities opened here and we moved,” she said.

Originally from Ohio, Aurelia earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in accountancy from the University of Akron. In school, she was deeply involved in professional development activities such as Women in Business and the Institute for Leadership Advancement.

As someone who always seeks to learn, JCCS’s focus on growing its team was a draw.

“I love that JCCS is people focused. It’s clear mentorship and continued growth are priorities here. I see people living the firm’s mission, vision, values, and I see a strong culture where people are cared for.”

Working with clients and understanding their needs is her favorite part of working in auditing. In Boston, she primarily worked with financial institutions. At JCCS, she looks forward to working with clients in a variety of industries.

“I like building client relationships—being on site and having face-to-face conversations helps me understand the needs of a client. I’m excited because I think being here, I’ll be exposed to industries I wasn’t exposed to previously.”

Being new to Northwest Montana, Aurelia is excited to explore not just the trails, but local coffee shops, bookstores, and restaurants. And, when she can, she plans to bring her 3- legged dog, Ipa, named for IPA beer because Ipa is “extra hoppy.”
