With more than 35 years of experience helping small-business owners solve varying financial and regulatory challenges, Jerry Lehman knows that almost always the most-meaningful solution is based on common sense and usually it’s the least-complicated choice. And that, typically, these solutions are “seeable” because of the insight gained over a long-term relationship with a client – truly understanding the specific dynamics of a situation along with the real questions that need to be asked and answered.
Jerry’s daily mindset is to treat, think about and focus on his professional clients the same as he does his family members. Often taking that a step further, many clients have become personal friends with whom he spends time hunting, fishing and vacationing. Knowing and understanding a client’s family has proven especially important when helping craft a long-term business plan and/or succession plan strategy for a family-owned business. Being both a trusted friend and a trusted professional advisor has led clients to seek his help on everything from developing strategic business plans to the hiring process of key employees.
Jerry has always valued being a part of a larger, multitalented JCCS team on whom he can rely to provide the depth of knowledge and experience necessary to address each client’s unique circumstances. In one recent example, a successful closely held firm needed a mechanism to fund the owner’s buy-sell agreement. Jerry teamed up with other JCCS professionals to find and refine an insurance solution to act as a critical funding mechanism. As a result, the business owner and key employees now have additional protection and invaluable peace of mind.
